One of my favorite things about living in the Portland area? All of the incredibly high-quality local businesses I have access to. Food, clothing, art, you name it. I love supporting my community, especially when I get something tasty in return.
Enter Bliss Nut Butters. Their ingredients are pure and simple (nuts, sea salt, local raw honey and sunflower seed oil), but the taste is big. I’ve been purchasing their peanut butter from my local health food store for months now. When I saw they had a booth at our farmer’s market, I had to try their newest creation: hazelnut butter.
And oh man, I was not disappointed.
The texture of their nut butter is unique. I wouldn’t describe it as chunky so much as it is grainy. Maybe that’s not the most appealing word, but it really works! Mixed in my oatmeal, it adds the right amount of sweet and crunchy I’m looking for. The hazelnuts taste lightly roasted and give off an incredibly rich flavor that you don’t find in other nut butters. Honestly, it’s just so dreamy.
My favorite bowl of oats, always with a spoonful of nut butter. Always.
And nutritionally? Hazelnuts pack a solid punch.
